Welsh Humor

Welsh Humor

My Great-Grandfather was from Wales. He was a wonderful, soft-spoken man with a lilting Welsh accent. I don't remember much about him other than the soft cadence of his voice. I do remember the only joke I ever heard him tell. Of course, I didn't fully understand it until I was a grown woman, but remember laughing heartily, because I knew it must be funny if he thought it was.

Keep in mind that Englishmen and Scotsmen have somewhat of a ongoing rivalry...

"An Englishman was strolling along a country lane when he came upon a slumbering Scotsman dressed in his clan kilt. The English have always been quite curious about what Scotsmen wear under their kilt, so this gent decided to have a look. A quick peek revealed that the Scotsman was Au natural. The Englishman decided to mark the occasion by tying a blue ribbon on the Scotsman's well...hmmhmm..... After awaking from his slumber, the Scotsman noticed something a little out of the ordinary and found the ribbon. In his quick Scotch wit, he commented "I don't know where you've been, but I'm glad you've won first place".

Ah, the things we remember from childhood!

  2. This is a famous drinking song in scotland called the blue ribbon. In it two girls come across a sleeping scotsman and decide to take peak underneath his kilt. they see him as God made him. Whereupon they decide to put a blue hair ribbon around the star of scotland. When he wakes up and needs to relieve himself he notices the ribbon and states, I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize. Very funny song, you can hear it on youtube if interested.

So they take a peak and see him as God made him. they decide to put a blue hair ribbon around his star of scotland. After they leave the scotsman awakens and needs to relieve himself and sees the ribbon and states, i don"t know where you been but I'm glad you won first prize.
