Taking Care of Business

As most of you know, I have been doing a lot of soul searching about continuing our business.  No decisions have been set in stone, as of yet, however, I have revamped the website and restocked a few items.

Tea Cozies are currently available, as are T-shirts (at a new, reduced price!) and Wolverine moral patches.  Reusable menstrual pads and incontinence products may be available shortly (after a complete revamp of business practices - we are still fine-tuning what works and what doesn't).  I will keep you posted on our progress.

I truly appreciate your encouragement and support as we have worked on our problem areas.  I am deeply indebted.

Your have your priorities, but if you have a small but profitable income stream coming in. Maybe scale back, reduce your workload. Tell customers to be patient, waiting times could be in weeks or months for products to be available. Maybe farm out some work to some trusted locals and they make extra income.
Thats the one thing that is so wonderful about private enterprise. The ability to adapt to new conditions and yet remain profitable.
If other income sources dry up you will always have a functioning backup income stream.

I would say that a majority of your customers are blog followers and they would understand the waiting times for a quality product and of course, patience is a virtue.

  3. I know you make feminine products but can those be used as inserts for cloth diapers? Has it been tried? I am looking into cloth diapering for our next child.

  4. Keep up the good work Enola.
And, remember to take frequent breaks from your work so that you don't get burnout. In my younger years I forgot about to take breaks until nature forced me to do so several times. Burnout is not good for you or others around you.

Fortunately, my late wife could see it coming and would insist that I take a break. God bless her. She was a good ol' gal.

  5. Dear Enola,
Last week at church after our mid-week study a friend and I were talking about her "iron peice" (we did referance it like that because of the children around... it made me chuckle:) ) and how she didn't like carrying it in her purse because she is afraid of putting it down somewhere and forgetting it... So I showed her your website. I told her that you were thinking about scaling back on things so I didn't know if you were still filling orders but that it was worth a try. She was very impressed with the pictures on your site and the concept in general of "naturaly conceled". This morning after church she acme to me and whispered in my ear" Thanks for giving me that website. Can you tell?" She had her holster on under her church clothes and I couldn't see a thing! I was very impressed. She also commented on how comfortable it was and her husband was impressed with your awesome customer service! Thanks for living upto my recomendations!! I just wanted to pass on some honest and great feedback on your product!

Good luck on your reorganising, I know that is a hard thing to do. Thanks for your blog and all that you do I enjoy reading whenever you post!

    Sincerely,
    A Sister!

  6. Speaking of business......whatever became of your husband’s idea to make and market a high-quality, non-electric, hand-powered washing machine to rival the low-quality, high-priced James washer? I thought it was a great idea and have been waiting to hear more about it. I hope he hasn't given up on it.

  7. Dear Enola,

Perhaps the word you really mean regarding the patch is morale, rather than moral. (Although I appreciate the implication of moral :-) )
