  1. Enola,

    (captain crunch again)

I got one of them new Stag 3G rifles (AR-15 platform) and I fell in love with it. (My M1A feels abandoned) This new rifle is so smooth and has so little recoil its unreal. I can use hot loads all the way up to 77 grain!
I am planning on adding the 30 degree sights and a fancy scope since this thing is so rediculousy accurate. (I am using them plastic magpul backup sights now)
This new rifle will be my target AR. One bit of warning, if you shoot one, get ready to burn a $1300.00 hole in your wallet.

(One good thing about being single, I don't have to explain to a wife or girlfriend where all my money went)

There is a "carbine club" where I live that trains and has informal matches every few weeks. The matches consist of many tactical obstacles and combat drills shooting through open windows, doors etc. in a fake house on a range. I talked to several of the people at this club and found many of them to be 'like minded' individuals.
Training on your own is great, if you can find a club to shoot with and compete with others that are like minded, you may learn more and have more fun doing it.
