Zombie Apocalypse

So, it's not just we survival freaks that are talking zombies now, it's the CDC.  Yes, you read that right.  The CDC just put out an article dealing with an impending Zombie Apocalypse and how to prepare for flesh-eating undead.  If you want to further your preparations for a zombie attack, you can read the article here.

I have come to the conclusion that the zombies we face may very well not be of the flesh-eating undead variety, but instead may be of the governmental undead variety.  They are a little harder to spot, but the undead is the undead.  The Zombie Apocalypse cometh.

  1. In every zombie movie I've ever watched (and I've seen a few), the good guys used guns and other weapons against the living dead. I didn't see anything in the CDC article about defensive weapons. Instead, it mentioned going to a refugee camp or an evacuation center. Oh sure, I want to become a refugee or go to a FEMA camp - are they serious??

The name of the Assistant Surgeon General was particularly interesting.

  2. I am still trying to pick my lower jaw up from off the floor!

The CDC says this site is the most popular ever.
Hey, if it will get the Zombie crowd to start prepping, they just might leave us alone!

  3. I love this! Let's face it, if you can prepare for a zombie apocalypse, you'll be prepared for everything! Kudos to the CDC for making real effort to connect with people and get important messages out.

  4. The best Zombie movie ever was "Dawn of the Dead" from 1982.
The way I see it, most zombies will be coming out of goverment housing with food stamp cards that are worthless looking for handouts. Some of thease individuals will form gangs, roadblocks to collect tolls etc. It will make 'Stalingrad in the winter of 1942" look like a fun day at the beach.

  5. Good Lordy- at first i thought it was a lil joke you put out to amuse us( your loyal Fans) but the CDC in conference realy did put this out there--i read the article and seems to me all theyre suggesting is for us to depend on our local government or resource (until you can get to a shelter or refugee area)-they should be encourageing folks to prepare to take care of themselves - we all know how fast and efficient the system works...also i have a website thatyou and your daughter might be interested it- you can download e books like- Where there is no DWctor-- where there is no Dentist-- and a Midwifes Handbook etc... i already have downloaded them and they are realy informative in identifying illness or desease- treatment and possible outcomes... they even go into detail of how to turn a breach baby- they are also illistrated... thier web address is --- (www.hesperian.org) you may even find some of it usefull Enola... still waiting (patiently) for your book.... 7. All I can think of is the movie "I Am Legend" with Will Smith - people basically turned into zombies from gov't mandated vaccines that went nuts in human bodies... not like *that* could ever happen... Scary stuff. :(

  8. i cannotbelieve that the cdc put this out.....but more unbelieveable is they used our tax dollars to do it. it makes me truly angry about them spending money for such nonsense, and even more angry that they felt they had to appeal to such an audience.

  9. I think it is a way to get peoples attention. They did say "You may laugh now, but when it happens you’ll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."

And believe it or not, it may get the attention of younger people and how to prepare.

And I disagree with CaptainCrunch-I think Night of the Living Dead 1968 is the best Zombie movie!!

Great conversation starter, though. cannot wait for your book Enola!
