A Conquered People

All of the fuss over building a Mosque at the World Trade Center site seems somewhat perplexing to me.  After all, it is the right of conquerors to establish markers identifying their newly acquired territory.

When you consider the explorers and conquerors of old, you will notice a pattern of identifying territory.  When Roald Amundsen successfully reached the south pole, the first thing he did was plant a flag marking his achievement.  When our astronauts landed on the moon, they drove an American flag into the lunar surface, effectively "claiming" that land as American soil. When British Colonists breached the North American shores, they set the Union Jack to flying.  They laid their claim.  They staked their territory.

Islam has done no less.  Their history is a history laden with conquest.  In Israel, their holy sites have been built over the top of Jewish holy sites. The Dome of the Rock covers the original Jewish Temple Mount.  The Grand Mosque of Damascus was first a church dedicated to John the Baptist.  And even Mecca itself was originally a pagan shrine.  The Muslims first conquer and then mark their territory.

At some point we need to see things as they are, not through the lens of political correctness.  The Muslim clerics don't want to build a Muslim "YMCA" or "fitness center".  They don't want a nice little coffee shop or peaceful gathering place.  They want a shrine.  They want to lay claim to their piece of America.  They want to fly their flag over a conquered people.

The "War on Terror" will never be won until we identify who we are at war with.  We are not at war with "terrorists", we are at war with Muslims.  Not all Muslims are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslims.  Muslims and Christians cannot live in peace.  We serve two different masters and never the twain shall meet.  They are willing to fight to the death.  Are we willing to stand to the death?

  1. Very well said, Enola. This is it in a nutshell and I've literally had all the political correctness I can choke down. I so wish we had true men of conviction and valor leading our country. I see some on the horizon, fighting their way through the mess. They are the ones that aren't afraid to say it like it is. Like you've said it here. Years ago my father was transferred and we lived overseas in a heavily muslim populated area for a while. They are different from us and you cannot and will not mix the two. Their views and ways of belief are so very different from ours and they merely "tolerate" us, trust me. Kind of funny, in a very twisted way, when you think about it. "We" preach tolerance, tolerance, tolerance...and, it's tolerance of evil that will take us down if we let it. Del Tackett, from Focus on the Family, calls tolerance the "unspoken covenant". Interesting, huh?

  2. Just 7 years after the 9/11 attacks, Americans elected a President with strong ties to Islam. We have city councils opening their sessions with Islamic prayers and Dearborn Michigan sounding a city-wide siren to call Muslims to prayer several times per day. As a nation, we've lost this war. The question for the few of us left who understand the dangers we face and still believe in liberty, "What do we as individuals do to protect ourselves and our family from the obvious future we face?" I fear that within our own group, we too are so intimidated that when push comes to shove, very few will stand up and fight.

  4. This post took courage. Hurrah! I will stand with you. This is an intolerant religion seeping into our society and lives and it will not end well for us. As Christians, we're going to be forced to make a choice. Will we stand for Christ?

  5. I have made my choice and I guess it is not politically correct.

  6. Thank you for saying what few will say. I have made a few similar comments to friends (I thought) only to be rebuked. God help us all.

  7. If you like "Patriots" by James Wesley Rawles;
    I think you would enjoy the novel "The Vision" by Debi Pearl. It deals with these very issues, and a lot more. Here's a link:

  9. Good post and right on the money. We are losing this war because the enemy has not been defined. When I bring this up I too am rebuked to the point I just shake my head. Beans, Bullets and Bandaids and pray for the rapture.
