The Innocence of Ignorance

Do you remember being a child and longing for the day when you would "be big"?  When you were 5, you couldn't wait to be ten.  When you were ten, you couldn't wait to be thirteen.  You just knew that the world would be perfect when you were all grown up.  And then, you grew up.  What had looked so enticing when you were young - freedom, autonomy, choice - came with a huge price.  Adulthood, that picture perfect dream, had strings attached - strings called responsibility, self-denial and obligation.  Now, having reached adulthood, you see clearly into the ignorant desires of childhood.  You realize that your innocence painted a rose colored picture of reality.

Sometimes, when I see the world spiraling out of control around me, I wish I could return to a childlike innocence born of ignorance.  I wish I could ignore the moral decay, the increasing dysfunction and the calculated destruction of our civilization.  I wish, when yet another headline shouts of political treachery, I could plug my ears and hum, pretending that all is right in the world.  I wish, when the gas prices skyrocket and the dollar tumbles, I could believe that it was just another matter of market adjustment and it will right itself soon enough.  I wish, that when the government tells me that I don't have to worry about a thing - they will take care of everything, I could believe them. I wish I could trust what the media tells me - that they take their job as the watchdog of the government seriously.  But I don't.  And I can't.  My rose colored glasses of ignorance were smashed years ago and have proven irreparable.

Although innocence is beautiful, it is tender, fragile and, when born of ignorance, dangerous.  Ignorance breeds apathy and slothfulness.  It assumes much and expects little of itself.  It appeals to the masses and leaves destruction in its wake.

Wake up!  We are no longer 5 years old, waiting to be ten.  We MUST see the world through the eyes of truth rather than ignorance.  This is our time.  Take off your glasses and see.  The prudent man sees danger and takes refuge - but the simple keep going and suffer for it.  Proverbs 22:3.

  1. Most people believe that if they just "follow the rules" it will all turn out all right. They can't accept that the rule makers are twisting the rules for their (the rule makers) benefit. The rules no longer make sense to follow. A world without rules is a terrifying place, but is a world without sane rules any better?
This is the same mentality that has people drive their cars into a river because the Sat-nav told them to. How can we wake the masses up when the educational system is based on destroying free-thinking, "learn the rule, follow the rule, don't question the answer".

  2. Well said, but I fear you are screaming into the howling winds of an apathetic ignorant mass of state-indoctrinated dullards. Here is hoping you reach a few on the margins.

  3. Q: What is the chief end of man?
A: Man's chief end is to glorify God,1 and to enjoy him forever.2

1 Corinthians 10:31. Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Romans 11:36. For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Psalm 73:24-26. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God isthe strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

John 17:22, 24. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one... Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

  4. I think the world isn't any more corrupt than it ever has been-we just hear about it quicker now, complete with all the unpleasant details. The world has always been, is, and will continue to be a, dangerous place. The most dangerous planet in the solar system is the one we're standing on.
It's smart to be prepared for the things that are most likely to go wrong, with some leftover for others in need. I can't speak for others, but most of the people I've dealt with are decent, intelligent folks. It's just that the dorks that make a lot of noise doing somethng stupid get noticed. Though it's a dangerous planet, it has its bright spots. Rose colored glasses just distort your world view, though you may need clear-lensed goggles to protect you from all the flying bull$&!* and see where it's coming from...and have a good built-in B.S. detector.

  6. Benjamin Franklin warned us when he said, “When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” I believe the Republic is gone. Hopefully a new Republic for our children will arise from its ashes.

Yes, the world has always had its share of hard times. However, in the absence of divine intervention America's demise will be MUCH DIFFERENT. Civilization hangs by the treads of complex technology-dependent food production and distribution. Our masses have become lazy non-producers addicted to government-forced wealth distribution. America is a house of cards. Are you prepared for the cards to fall?

All I can say is I feel as if im living in the latter days of ancient Rome near the first collaspe and invasion of the barbarians.

Everywhere I look I see social, moral, economic decay. There is no end in sight as our society falls into an abyss of evil.

I think I may trade my "Rose Colored Glasses" in for a Nightforce Riflescope.

By the way, Im offering free AR-15 (entry level classes) at the gun range on weekends. This is the very basics (how not to shoot yourself in the foot)

Last weekend I got shot at (by accident) I shut the rifle range down to put up some new paper targets up, but some "Yahoo's" with an AR were shooting at the pistol range (right next to the rifle range) and one round came flying over a 15 foot berm. 20 feet above me to my left. The sound of a high powered rifle bullet buzzing overhead is very distinctive. (the range is built on a sloped side of a hill, with large earthen berms behind each range)

Its been awhile, but I heard that sound before.

I got to the pistol range and chewed out the "yahoo's" for shooting over the berm. Five minutes later, the "yahoo's" left.

I have a "zero tolerence level" for stupidity.

I really enjoy "radio free redoubt" by John Jacob Scmidtt. At the end of the latest radio show, John talked about like minded, liberty loving patriots should move to the redoubt (which is a good idea) but I had to have a little fun with this, a little "tong and cheeck humor" so I wrote an e-mail to John on Texas. I know some people will be irritated by this, but oh' well. Life is too short and we all need a good laugh evan though our society is slowly collasping. I learned humor in the miltary can really do lots to improve morale, thats why I crack jokes, evan in the darkest of times.

    Here's my latest.....

    (captaincrunch)

I just listened to your last radio show.

at the end you said, move to the redoubt, move to a libery loving states etc, etc, etc,

    NO, NO, NO

    Move to Texas!

we got almost no homeschooling laws, we got oil, we got jobs, we got money, we got land. (we got and oil and natural gas coming out of ours ears)

we got my hero "Senator Ted Cruz"

We got guns coming out of ours ears.....

(I mean this with a little tong and cheek humor:)

If I was rich (worth millions of dollars) I would buy and oil rig and have it moved (called a rig move) to that convention thing in late july in Idaho. I would have it set and manned that weekend and we can start drilling for oil. We could show you boys how its done "Texas Style"

There may not be any oil, but we can drill down and find somethin' evan if we have to drill down to molten lava and "Screamin Chinamen start popping out of the hole in the Earth" (that last part may not be a good idea)

We need to ship some real cowboys and longhorn cattle up there to the redoubt, them longhorns will run off the Polar Bears and the Wolves you guys got. We also need to ship in some Diamond Back rattlesnakes, Jackalopes, Antelopes, and our six foot tall Jackrabbits. We got Buzzards the size of Predator drones. We got Cactus, and Scorpions the size volkswagons. The Centerpede's down here are the size of frieght trains. (Maybe we can train the buzzards to attack the drones)

We evan scare bad people oversea's with Chuck Norris, Ted Nugent and our nasty "defiant" disposition.

By the way, I think we could fit the entire American Redoubt in Texas.

We got modified Dodge Diesel pickups on giant tires and lift kits, running up and down roads with 80 and 85 mile and hour speed limits (which we still break anyway) Try driving a Diesel pickup at 95 miles and hour, its a blast (no cop, no law)

I would set up a "Move To Texas" booth at that prepardness convention thing in July, just so we can stand around in our cowboy hats and boots, and spin tall tales about the greatest state in the United States and agitate and irritate (by the way, we have had one revolution and one civil war in Texas) We have been attacked by Mexicans, Mexian insurgents and Germans (German WW2 U-Boats in the Gulf of Mexico, Ever see the movie by Steven Spielberg "1941") Indians, lots of Indians and the French. We have also been attacked by the Union Army during the Civil War (they may yet come back again)

Its fun being a Texan, where else can someone dish out so much crap and get away it.

Yeah' I know. Im commenting again, but this is serious.

    1. Anything LDS should be shut down. A true Christian society would not allow LDS to recruit members or own property.

    2. Hey Anon,

      (captaincrunch)

I have met many nice Mormon people. I dont really agree with all of thier beliefs, however they are nice, decent people.

Somewhere in the Bible I know it says something about "worry about your own house" or something to that effect. I tried to look it up on Bible.com, but I did not feel like spending 45 minutes finding it (maybe you can look it up for me' Anon)

"Anon" maybe you should worry about "your own house for a change"

Now I agree with you on the "Islam" thing. Islam is a threat to the very basic fabric of this country. At least Mormons dont fly planes into building's or blow themselves up and expect to go to heaven and have 52 virgins.
Islam in my opinion is a "cult" that is far, far, from any Christian veiws. Mormons have thier faith based on Christian dogma evan though they went thier own way.

If I had to choose a neighbor, I would choose a Mormon over a Muslim any day of the week.

By the way, I fully support the LDS canneries and many of the charities the Mormons operate and manage. They do more charity work than many "weekend warrior Chrisitians" do.

Some advice "Anon" Don't sit behind the Bible and dictate. Lead from the front and not the rear.

    3. LDS is a FALSE religion period. GOD doesn't like FALSE religions, which is very clear in the scriptures.

I am worrying about my own house. My house is America, and GOD will judge the religious pluralism in this country. I am WARNING all. Read what happened to the Jew's HIS chosen people in the BIBLE when they rejected HIM and followed FALSE teachings.

I know its hard to stomach, but it doesn't matter to GOD how "nice and decent" you are if you don't believe in him (the true GOD, not the LDS gods). Your works, no matter how "good" they are mean nothing if you don't believe (see Isaiah 64:4)

Theres a lot more going on behind the scenes in the "billionaires club" that runs the oil fields of Texas. The Hunt Brothers, T. Boone Pickens and other billionaires will keep the oil and natural flowing no matter what happens.
The Eagle Ford and Permain Basin oil plays will be protected like the Anwar oil field in Suadi Arabia.
A major "Rawlesian Style Economic Collapse" may stall oil production down here in Texas or a invasion of Mexicans may try to take over, but I can see private armies being raised and funded by the billionaires that run the big oil machine. I can evan predict that former troops from Fort Hood and Fort Bliss will be used in thease private armies to keep Mexicans out if Washington D.C. collapses in on itself.

You also gotta understand Mexican culture too. Mexicans are superstitous people that have been beaten down for centuries by Mayans, Spainairds and the French. They have no warrior culture except for bandit leaders like Pacho Villa and now the cartels. They have no stomach for prolonged conflict and can be easily routed in a military campaine. In World War 2, Mexico chose "nuetrality" if that tells you anything.
One other important thing. In Mexican culture. Mexicans Nationals are out for themselves. Team work and common goals are not a priority. In a "firefight" Montana guy' if one of your buddys took a bullet, odds are you will try to drag him to safety. In Mexican culture, that team member would forgotten by his buddies and left to die.

We have hordes of Mexicans streaming over the border right now, Amnesty for all is what the Liberals dream of and that will change the face of Texas and help America turn into a socailist european system.

If we have too, Texas will do what we did in the 19th century and run all Non-Citizens out at gunpoint that way its supposed to be handled in the first place.

My only big fear is all the new illegal immigrants from Mexico will be allowed to vote and turn Texas into a "blue state" That being said though, the entire country including the "American Redoubt" would be "Socialized and Mexicanized" and there would be no where to run or hide.

The good news though is that the last I heard, The "Amnesty Bill" may be dead on arrival in the Senate just like the last two gun control bills. I urge everyone to contact thier respective Senators and tell them to vote "No" on any Amnesty Bills.

    2. Texas belonged to mexico and was stolen by the us..

    3. Hey Anon,

      (captaincrunch)

First, Northen Texas was purchased from the French (who ruled Mexico at the time) in the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. The area's south of the "Louisiana purchase" were populated by American immigrants in Texas and Texicans (Texans of Mexican Decent) When General Santa Ana started to take peoples land and make irrational dictates, we of course rebelled (with the help of thousands of Texicans) and defeated Santa Ana and the Mexican Army at the "Battle of San Jacinto"

We could have technically taken all of Mexico, seeing that Mexican army was defeated. We drew the line at the Rio Grande.

      Texas was "Not" stolen.

There are many Mexican nationals that are "still sore" over the subject, but Mexico has much potential and is rich in oil and minerals. They need to fix thier own country and its economy, its just envy over the fact that Texas is rich based on proper managment, Constitutional principals and a foundation of Christian beliefs.
