The Adults Have Left the Building....

Sir Knight and I discussed the state of the world this morning as we sipped our tea and prepared for the day.  We lamented the fact that our leaders no longer serve, but rather run their own personal race to the power and prosperity finish line.  As we discussed possible solutions to our current cultural and social crisis', we had the sickening realization that Americans are no longer the principled men and women who had the capacity to build the greatest nation the modern world has ever known.  To our shame, we have become a country of undisciplined children, throwing temper tantrums and tattling on our neighbors, all while our house burns down.

It's remarkably easy to sit in the comfort of our homes and throw stones at our politicians and public "servants", who have failed their jobs so monumentally.  In truth, their crimes against humanity threaten not just the lives of men, but their very souls.  However, we have to remember that "they" are "us".  We cannot separate our leaders from ourselves.  WE are the problem.

Our current Commander in Chief treats his responsibilities with petulant entitlement.  Rather than serving the people, he expects to be served.  And he is but one tiny example of the whole of modern mankind.  Unfortunately, this problem did not start at the top and trickle down - it is completely homegrown.

We raise our children with indulgence and a lack of responsibility.  We cater to childish whims and rush to fulfill every want and desire.  We require nothing and give everything.  And in the process, we raise our own future self-centered, egocentric, self-important Heads-of-State.  We are raising our children to be served, not to serve.  And in the process, we are carefully grooming our own masters.

It's time to reevaluate our choices.  If we want to watch our country self-destruct, imploding from the inside out, we are on the right track.  However, if we would choose a better country - a free and flourishing bastion of hope - then we need to require more from ourselves.  We need to discipline our lives and discipline our children.  We need to learn to do things for ourselves and not expect somebody else to be responsible for our lives.  We need to live according to our principles regardless of what other people do.  We need to quit making excuses for our poor behavior.  We need to live principled and disciplined lives.

We seem to be raising perpetual children.  Our desire to shield our kids from the realities of adulthood has not only harmed our children, but it is in the process of destroying our nation.  The evidence of our failure is before our eyes and the blood of our nation is running in the streets.  We are a nation of children.

Please, for the sake of our country, be a generation of Adults.  Make the hard decisions.  Do the right thing.  Love God.  Provide for your family.  Do good when everyone else does evil.  Let us not be a generation where the adults have left the building, but a generation that takes back our inheritance and builds a future upon it.

  1. Truly a welcome voice, a clarion call from the heart of America; but, I fear our society has already slid beyond the slippery slope and we are gaining speed down the face of the abyss...may God have mercy on our souls.

  2. The problem is, that self-centered children are incapable of raising disciplined adults. Now we see the result of decades of educational experiments, with people who no longer know how to think rationally or do difficult things.

  3. It is a tough pill to swallow, but I honestly believe it is time to move on. This once-great Christian nation has fallen into spiritually blindness.

If there is one thing God hates it is the shedding of innocent blood. Christ told us that the two main characteristics of Satan are murder and deceit (John 8:44) Satan's greatest weapon is governments. Can anyone name a nation that has caused more harm and suffering of the innocent worldwide than the US? We have a generation which knows of nothing but perpetual foreign wars. Our government protects and finances the murder of babies and the selling of their body parts. Is there any greater evil than that? Anyone trying to interfere will face the severest of government persecution. Ask yourselves, 'Who would be more proud of the fruit of the US, God or Satan?'

Hope is good. False hope is dangerous. At this point we should be more concerned about saving our souls, than saving a wicked, fallen nation.

  4. In my part of The People's Republic Kalifornia (the Sierra foothills) I see lots of young folks who are doing the 'right thing' - i.e. they are caring for their families and their neighbors. Yes, there are BIG problems (e.g. licentiousness) all around us. Just as there was before the American & French revolutions, just before the Victorian era, and during the "Roaring 20s" & Prohibition Era and before the Great Depression of my childhood. This a cyclical thing. It will get worse and but then it will get better. I am in my 80's and I expect to see the turn around towards virtue in my life time - it is already sprouting.

    1. Frank, Im not too far from you in Cali. Its a shame what has become of our beautiful state. I will have to move when I retire due to the taxes, to pay for those who don't want to work and a bloated educational system to name a few things..

  5. Thanks for sharing truth, for being bold and for sharing such a beautiful heart for this nation. You open blind eyes to reality with your words, but you also inspire and encourage with them. There is always hope in our Savior... and I believe it is not too late for this country.

  6. I agree with Hangtown Frank-things go in cycles. I work at a college, and the Millennials, generally speaking, are as decent a bunch as you would want to meet. Yes, there are a few jerks, but that's anywhere and anywhen you go. The past only looks good from the present. The problems we have aren't new or original-they've been around as long as humans have.

  7. Nothing new going on? Our woes are simply ‘cyclical’? Whoa! It’s nice to have a warm fuzzy feeling that America is ‘re-sprouting’, but folks have presented no facts to support these conclusions.

When was the last time ANY country amassed $19 trillion in debt ($161,025 per taxpayer)? Including unfunded liabilities every US taxpayer owes $852,743. How do you plan to pay your $852,743 share? When has ANY country murdered 58 million unborn babies? Had a younger generation in bondage to $1.3 trillion in student loans? Fought a 25 year foreign war?

For the sake of brevity, I’ll just stop at 5 simple questions and wait for the answers.

  8. To be clear, who is the 'we' you speak of? I stop in here from time to time and have only the utmost respect for you and yours and the life you are living however, in my life (now 70) I have done the right thing as have my children. The problems I see in our once great country are not of my doing - fact is, as one of the 'dirt people' (that would be a person of no consequence to those in power), we as a whole are only used to legitimize a rigged electoral process. There are those on the inside (a few) and those on the outside (the many). Just how it is: at least for the time being.

  9. To quote Pogo, "We have met the enemy, and they is us". There are no original sins left. It's a matter of degree. Have other countries-past or present-done the equivalent(for their time, or situation) to what we're doing now? Things do go in cycles, which has nothing to do with warm fuzziness. That doesn't mean smooth transitions, just that what goes around come around. We will have to pay for it all somehow and sometime. How? I have no idea.I doubt it will be a smooth transition. I view society as one of those huge oil tankers-you don't change directions very fast, hope your ship can take any storm you run into, and try to stay away from the rocks.
It was also a lot easier to hide things in the past..with our media, that's no longer the case.
Predicting the future is a iffy thing at best.look into the past-very few predicitions have come to pass. There's just too many variables.

  10. Regarding the Trump Phenomena, I will add two things. The second will explain the first.

    1) To my recollection, in the 60 years I've been on this earth, I've only registered to vote once, while on active duty with the USMC. I cannot say I've ever voted as I do not recall. I can say why. I recognized from an early age the whole thing was rigged. It mattered not how one voted when the only thing that mattered was who counted the vote. My mother was one of those counters for many years and she related tales of woe which started with the Johnson Administration.

I have again, for the second time in my life, again registered to vote. That vote will be for Trump, should he defy the criminality going on behind the scenes to replace him. Should he not be the Presidential candidate, I shall never vote again.

    2) The reason why this sea change in my thinking is as follows. Had to chop it up into two posts as a 4096 charactor limit.

Sent by Murray regarding a fundraising letter he received.....

Like many citizens, I've wondered and tried so hard to understand why Trump has such a remarkable following. (It's obvious why he should not !!) Then a friend sent me this raccoon story. It makes no difference about your political leanings, this is just a good explanation of WHY...(or it's as good as any I can come up with).

Please, don't reply with political rants from your side of the fence. This is not a message to support either party. It just helps understand how on earth Trump can remain so "popular" You have to admit, it's not easy to understand.

OK. To begin, a Republican writes a letter, read on, even if you are a Dem.

    Dear Representative,

From the time I was able to vote I voted Republican. I am 70+ and have a great deal of respect and influence with hundreds of senior ballplayers who also network with thousands of others around the country.

I received your questionnaire and request for money and strongly agree with every question as I have since Obama was elected. Unfortunately the one question that was missing is “What have the Republicans done for the American people?” We gave you a majority in the house and senate and you never listened to us. Now you want our money.

    ReplyDelete
  11. THE REST:

You should be more concerned about our votes not our money. You are the establishment which means all you want is to save your jobs and line your pockets… Well guess what? “It’s not going to happen” You can shake in your boots when I tell you our movement is for TRUMP and he hasn’t asked for a dime.

You might think we are fools because you feel Trump is on a self destruct course but look beyond Washington and listen to the masses. Nobody has achieved what he has, especially in a state of New York.
If you really want to know how the majority of people feel? And this applies to both democrats and republicans, read below, it says it all.

    Sincerely,

    Angry Republican

Here comes the part about the raccoons:

You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately. You call the city, 4 different exterminators but nobody could handle the job… But there is this one guy and he guarantees you to get rid of them, so you hire him. You don't care if the guy smells, you don't care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he voted for Obama, you don't care if he has a plumber's crack, you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your problem fixed! He's the guy. He's the best. Period

    Back to Trump

Here’s why we want Trump, yes he's a bit of an ass, yes he's an egomaniac, but we don't care. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republican Party is two-faced & gutless, and illegals are everywhere. We want it all fixed! We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he had been friendly with Hillary, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he's been married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslin terrorist.

This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegal's, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; "AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED" and Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.

We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, Republican Party, and sick of illegals. We just want this thing fixed. Trump may not be a saint, but doesn't have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn't have political correctness restraining him, all you know is that he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he's also not a politician, he's not a cowardly politician. And he says he'll fix it.

And we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.
Also we don't care if the guy has bad hair.

We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW.

You are welcome to pass this on. I feel this is why thousands of people that haven't voted in 25 years are registering to vote this year. The raccoons have got to go.

Here is West Point today. Ask yourself, 'Is it re-sprouting into life or wilting into death?'.
