I Don't Want Safety - I Want Freedom

Our government is trying to pull a fast one.  They are trying to convince us that their most pressing mandate is to provide the American citizens with the greatest measure of safety possible.  Forget the freedoms mandated by our founding fathers and entrusted to us in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights - SAFETY is the guiding principle of our new Keepers.  Our Keepers are not alone in their carefully conceived deception - they have entreated willing accomplices in the media and the marbled halls of  academia to perpetuate the lie that safety can be bought for the piddling sum of freedom.

Safety and Freedom are incongruent concepts.  Safety is an illusion, a passing ideal.  It is  the calling card of every power-hungry tyrant in the history of our world.  It is the stock-in-trade of every tin-pot dictator.  The promise of safety is the destroyer of freedom in every first-world nation on this earth.  Safety is a deception sold to a gullible people.  Freedom, on the other hand, was established in the hearts of men by their Creator. We crave it.  We fight for it.  We were born for it.  True men understand the eternal value of freedom and will guard and protect it no matter the cost.  They understand that safety cannot be bought, but found in the strong towers of God alone.  They know that freedom is born in our very heart and cannot be traded for a mere illusion.

I don't want whatever safety our government thinks they can offer us - I want only the freedom that is our birthright.

They can takes our lives....but they can never take our FREEDOM!

  1. Give me liberty or give me death. It's as true today as it was when Patrick Henry said it 237 years ago.

  2. Safety is like the free lunch-there ain't no such thing-only reduced risk. Wearing a motorcycle helmet doesn't guarantee you won't get get hurt in a wreck, it just reduces the risk somewhat. Sometimes, you take risks and it works-other times not. That's life. The "safety" government offers you simply costs too much all the way around.

  3. Amen. I'm reminded of the quotation, which basically says, "A nation of sheep results in a government of wolves". We now have both.

  4. Amen and amen! Now, how do we go about saving our freedoms? Paraphrasing Ron Paul: it'a hard to sell freedom to Americans these days. Sad, but oh so true.

  5. They don't want safety for us either. Otherwise, they would not allow Monsanto GMO foods or contaminated unlabeled food from China.

  6. How many people killed by GMO foods? Zero. Maybe someday GMO will create something stupid or dangerous that may compare with the many instances of plants and animals that have been imported to locations where they went out of control. Maybe someday that will happen. Science isn't 100% safe anymore then anything is 100% safe. But one thing we should have all learned from history is humans will do what they can do so logically GMO should be kept under scrutiny and developed in a country like ours where there is more openness and oversight. You would only force it underground or to countries like China or Russia if it were made illegal here. We simplly cannot become luddites or wish things away we don't like.

    1. My non-psychic prediction. In the not too distant future, you may be able to carry on a conversation with a GMO-for they will be us. Genetic mods to humans will be as common as vaccinations today, and used to engineer out diseases. Not a bad idea, if you ask me. I'll bet there's a lot of diabetics who would like to have a functioning pancreas, blind people who'd like to have functioning eyes, and so on. Any technology can be misused, but it also has its benefits. Why deprive those who need its benefits because a few might misuse it?

    2. Why? Because it is being done in secret by the same people that brought us Agent Orange.

  8. Right On Montana Guy! Jesus made a similar statement ...wolves in sheep's clothing. Every day, especially every 4-yrs, US citizens lose a little more freedom. Why? Lazy. Blind. Entitled mentality.

  9. The government sure kept us safe during 9-11 right. Remember that was the second attack and they knew that our enemies wanted to destroy the towers and did after all. What about Boston? Did they keep the people safe. NO and NO again. They can not guarentee our safety. This is what happens when you drink their socialist "government welfare", police state agenda school punch. Obama wants war and is pushing us to the brink. The is a war on Christianity. Make no mistake about it. You are now ALL suspects to be data mined and mind controlled war pigs. The real terrorist aka hamas, al qaeda, taliban and hezbollah they are no threat and have been nutralized. Look at the BBC news in England and you will see how Obama wants to bring sharia law to the US. It will not longer be a Christian nation it will be Islamist like all the places they have conquered with their false religion and manipulation of legal systems based on their own rights to their own religious laws. Our Christian law does not pertain to them. I say no way we will fight!

  10. The thought that the government can keep us safe is similar to the thought that the police keep us safe. Far too many people need to learn that the police are involved AFTER the incident and most often write the report about what happened, they don't prevent it from happening. They stop the speeder after he speeds, they are called to a hostage situation after the hostage is taken, and so on and so forth. Yet, the sheeple think we need more laws and more law enforcement. They blame their woes on not enough of each and demand more.

This is a timely piece. I pray more and more people find your blog and get the scales knocked off their eyes.

  11. Our country was founded for the express purpose of codifying and defending the rights of the individual in supremacy over the needs of the collective. No one may take any of our God given rights from us. We are the ultimate guarantor of our right to Life, Liberty and Property and because of that responsibility we must be willing and able to defend these rights.
