Have you ever seen the likes of this?

This is the Goldstream River in Victoria, B.C.  Apparently, it began flowing this neon green color and within the course of an hour, the entire river was green.  Within a few hours, it had returned to its normal color.  Earlier that day, a public fountain in Langford had also turned the same shade of green.  No reason has been determined.  Amazing, huh!

  2. I saw in the comments on the news story that there is an "artist" who travels around and does this to small streams to see how people react. He's done this in four or five other places, along with a big fountain, I believe in Rome.

  3. Crazy...wonder if it's connected to all of the mysterious dead birds being found all over the world? Crazy!

  4. HA! I knew somebody would connect this to the dead birds. It's done as others have said, by an "artist" with a "nontoxic" dye bag or silly kids or maybe some type of waterline leakage dye that either got intentionally or inadvertantly dumped into the creek. There is a large American city (I've forgotten which one) that dyes its river green each year on St. Patrick's Day. Nobody gives that a second thought.

BTW, large bird and fish die-offs are a natural and relatively common occurance. Animals are not immune to extreme weather any more than humans are.

Bottom line, don't buy into the hype and lies the newsmedia is feeding us. These incidents will be used against our industries if we believe the lies. Dead birds!!!!! Must be caused by global warming!!!! We MUST stop using coal!!!! Green rivers??? MUST be that paper mill upstream!!! Close them down!!! See what I'm saying???

Don't panic, don't believe the lies, do your research.

  5. Thank you NoCal Gal for the words of wisdom. Things like this are good for a Huh? but not anything to get worked up over.

  6. NoCal Gal & Audioconsultant;

What amazingly brilliant readers I have! You are so right. It is fine to wonder, but no speculating until all the facts are in. Personally, I am glad that God gave us blue water rather than that hideous green! Very unnatural! Leave it to an "artist" to try and improve on God's handiwork. And, of course, NoCal gal is right - these things always get worked up into a save the planet hysterical rant!

  7. Chicago dyes the river green every St.Patric's day.

  8. That was Canada's St Patricks day! Just as their thanksgiving and independence day is different from ours. One day soon they plan on entering the 21st century, eh!

    Just kidding I love Canada!!

  9. Not to belabor this issue but how about a cautious and studious middle-of-the-road approach? The green dye may have simply been a Red Herring (pardon the pun!) but we shouldn't let all of this go by without some decent answers, and since I don't trust the government or the media, I'm not sure where those answers will come from. I believe time will give us more data. FYI: Here is a relatively sane article which brings up some good points. http://homelandsecurityus.com/archives/4429#more-4429

  10. Janet, I read the link you provided. Do you think the bird and fish die-offs and the dyed river could be related to terror activities? I'm not sure terrorists would do anything that would tip us off about their plans.

I've been trying to recall all the terror events since 9/11 (there have been so many to consider). It seems to me that all the attacks and attempted attacks have been perpetrated without overt experimentation beforehand.

If it means anything, I have personally seen large die-offs of both birds and fish and they died of "natural" causes. The birds died when a massive flock landed on an electric line and their weight caused the line to sag into another line, which resulted in electrocution to the birds on the wire. The fish died when the water they were in had insufficient oxygen due to an algae bloom. Such things are relatively common.

I do agree with you on the main point of your comment, however. I agree that we need to seek answers for ourselves because we cannot trust the government or the media. I'll add that we must always remain vigilant.

Do you watch the Fox News Network? I trust them more than any of the others. Although, they tend not to follow-up on some stories, often leaving a viewer (like me!) to wonder what happened after the initial excitement subsides. While at other times they cover a story until I get sick of hearing about it. (Maybe I'm just too darn hard to please.)

  11. It could of also been algae, it happens in other parts of the world both red and green colors. It could also be eggs or new hatchlings of a certain animal and they are heading down the stream.

  12. Hi NoCal Gal & others,
Just to be clear on two things: 1) I regard the green dye as being superfluous (but momentarily interesting) to all of the fish/bird/crab/etc die-offs. When I was young I saw our local river turn Red, White and Blue as well as Green, all during one summer in the early 60's, but never at the same time.

I'm not one to go off half-cocked but I do like to do research especially when you can connect the dots, so to speak. After a calm and collected look at the list included in this article and the list that Drudge has provided, I think it's fairly impressive for a two week period of time, and it appears that none of these birds were sitting on any sagging wires at the time, nor were any of the fish or crabs, if you take my point. I hope at the very least the news will compel folks to do more research, and I think the die-offs could reasonably be considered above average in this two week period. The phrase 'Aflockalypse' has been thrown around. Kind of cutesy, but I think there is a lot we don't know. Yes, I watch Fox News because I also believe they are more trustworthy than the other news stations. What's even more impressive is that the Bible reads like front page news in some sections!

My 2nd point: I do not wear a tin foil hat (ha, ha!), but I have been looking into 'Chemtrails' recently. If you are unfamiliar with this, just look on YouTube for Rosalind Peterson for a start. Then perhaps you will take a look at "What in the world are they spraying". So much is going on around us that we have no control over. I would love to say that nothing surprises me at this point but I don't want to tempt fate. Still, I cheerily meet every new day and get on with the business of living rather than worrying about this stuff. I'm not in charge so I have no say in how it all plays out. We need to be aware but not overly concerned beyond reason. For example, my 'To-Do' list for this week includes such earth-shattering items as canning some ground beef and making sure my lovely spoiled chickens have clean water and fresh shavings. Now, if all of my hens turn green or suddenly keel over at the same time this week, we might have a serious problem, but I don't anticipate this. 8-)

  13. It's fluoriscene, used as a leak detection dye for water systems. Someone got a jug of it and is just screwing around. Fairly non-toxic stuff. nothing to get worked up over.

  14. Janet in MA, I never intended to portray your thinking as "Tin Foil Hat" stuff. Quite the contrary, I do see where these events seem to reflect the plagues promised in the Bible.

However, I also know the Bible tells us not to fall for the tricks of the Deceiver. That Satan will try to confuse us and thereby lead us astray. It is for these reasons that I watch, read, listen, think, and conclude that these die-offs are nothing in the grand scheme of things. That they are indeed natural and their frequency has been helped along by the extremes of weather and the news media.

As for chemtrails, I grew up near an active air force base in California and saw chemtrails every day of my life. They often went directly over the top of our home. None of us suffered from the chemtrails. Almost every photo from my childhood has a chemtrail in the background, and when I look at those photos today I often laugh at the inability to escape those trails. But I have suffered no ill effects from them other than several unattractive photo backgrounds and 2 heads. (OK, I don't have 2 heads, merely wanted to see if you were paying attention.)

Sadly, I don't put anything past our government any longer. (I must watch my "vitriol" since I don't want to be accused of inciting a maniac to shoot people) Could the powers-that-be do something clandestine to the populace? I suppose anything is possible. But let's not forget that those same people live here with us and what they do to us in a grand scheme could also impact them or their families. Are they that diabolical? I can't say, I don't know. I pray they are not.

Do you really think something as perverse as chemtrail sprays could go on for so long without somebody in the government tattling? We can't even keep our military secrets safe - remember WikiLeaks?

With all the genuine threats to our way of life and with all the genuine disasters and the very real possibility of a worldwide financial collapse, I will spend my time preparing for those much more likely events than I will spend time sweating over the die-offs. Should every bird drop from the sky, should every fish die in the sea, should people start falling over dead in the streets of my small town - then I will drop to my knees and accept my fate. Until those things happen, I'm buying more tin foil - but for my preps and not for my head.

    Take care, NoCal Gal
