In the Line of Fire!!


As many of you know, a tremendous amount of the Redoubt is on fire.  Our family has been blessed to have escaped unscathed so far, however, my parents have been effectively surrounded.  Although their homestead is currently "safe", their pastor and his wife are literally in the "line of fire".  Our dear "Georgia Transplants" have been evacuated and have sought refuge at my parents home.  They were able to evacuate two trailer loads of belongings, but the majority of their worldly possessions are in immanent danger.

Tired and weary, hoarse from smoke and exhaustion, our Georgia Transplants are praising the Lord.  They are praising Him for His faithfulness.  They are praising Him for His Providence.  They are praising Him for His children that have surrounded them, upheld them and encouraged them.  They are praising Him for their brothers and sisters all over the country that are on their knees interceding on their behalf.  They are praising God in the midst of their storm.

I beseech you - please.  Pray for these dear people that we love.  Pray that God sends the rain.  Pray that God stays the fire.  Pray that these fires bring glory to God and point people to His majesty.  But most of all, pray.  And if you are in the middle of your own firestorm, I will pray.  I will pray that as the flames grow nearer, your faith grows stronger - and that you will praise the One that walked with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and delivered them from the fiery furnace unscathed.

  2. The young men in my family mobilized with their Civil Defense Force to help State agencies somewhere between me and you. Praying for safety to come and cause all to see from whence cometh their help.

  3. Prayers for all the firefighters and those in the line of the fires. We are not threatened but are breathing the smoke from the Soda fire. We will pray for your dear ones!

  5. Your pictures give my heart a lurch. Sending up prayers for your friends. We lived this two years ago in Colorado and lost everything. I can assure you, though, that the God we serve is so much greater than any trial here on this earth. He has carried and provided for us in so many ways and brought many opportunities to witness through this experience. I hope this will be a testimony to encourage your friends!

  7. My sons were fighting in the Kamiah area until they were called off. The devastation is too much for words. Praise God for their safety, some haven't made it and payed the ultimate price.

  8. Philippians 4: 12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation . . . . I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

    Why fret over the fires?.. God is in total control, If it is in the cards that you loose your possessions and property,Who are you,that god would change his plan for??? stand strong, hold fast to your faith, Don't pray a selfish prayer that disaster will pass over you and your material gains....,pray for strength to endure Gods will..

  9. Will definitely be praying for all of you. Know what it is to be in the face of catastrophe. We survived Katrina. The one thing it does is remind us that God is indeed in charge.

  10. Praying for all. Fire is but a dozen miles or so from my town Priest River. Backfires have been set to try to stop the main fire from getting to US.
    Pray for the wind coming in Thursday will not happen. It will change the game plan.
    Just got back from fire watch on North 57. All is well so far.

North 57 , Priest River is now on a level one evacuation notice, just west is level two.The wind is not blowing east as hoped to an area where we can fight the fire, but south for now toward Priest River. Prayer is all we have, thank God for the wisdom on this board by your readers. I have my personal truck loaded up with water back packs tools and Wildland fire clothes. I hope I will not need them.
    We are ready for what comes, continued prayers for you all.

  12. Its a God thing, Aug 29th, the winds came 60mph. I was coming back from Priest Lake when it hit. I went to my fire station in Priest River Idaho and waited to see what would come our way. As I sat their and looked up, our American flag just dropped and the rain started. Yep, we prayed for that.
    This was not the forecast we saw on the news. Areas that were level 2 went to level 3 in 5 minutes, all the other area raised the evac alert. The smoke came before the fire, people who waited could not see to get out, trapped.
    And it continued to rain-God is faithful and is full of surprises. All the evac alerts are now gone, still have fires to fight, but I saw a miracle on the 29th. I pray everyone else is safe and sound,

  13. It is the 29th of Sept. The fire is contained and we are just fighting spot fires. God has been faithful to US. All prayers answered in our area. I continue to pray for others that still face the fires.
