Equality. A cornerstone of our country, of our government, was the equality of men. The Continental Congress did away with such notions as Kings and Kingdoms, Nobles and Peasants, Lords and Villains. In the country they created there would be equality. Men would serve as lawmakers for a short while and then return to their homes to live under the laws they created. They determined to rule well, securing liberty for their countrymen, and in doing so, securing liberty for themselves and their posterity. They considered themselves men of the people, in fact, they were the people.
The entire concept of equality for all men was more than revolutionary. Every other culture on earth had a ruling class. Not since ancient Rome had mankind seen a republic flourish - and never a representative republic! Liberty and freedom blossomed as the people ruled themselves with honor and integrity. While not perfect, America promised that which no country had before - freedom and justice for all men - regardless of station or circumstance. The equality of men was the American Dream.
A country such as ours can only be held together by good men. And the good men have left the building. They have been replaced by greedy, corrupt, immoral men, seeking the best for themselves at the expense of their fellow men, and their country. Once again, the Ruling Class has quietly crept into a secured position of power, content to crush the equality of their brethren under their feet. We live in a country where our lawmakers make laws to govern the people but exempt themselves. We live in a country where our law keepers police the people, but not themselves. We live in a country where the judicial system has taken it upon themselves to act as lawmakers rather than the chief investigators of innocence or guilt.
It is the unfortunate state of humanity to guard our comforts at the cost of our freedoms. As our Founding Fathers noted, "all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed." And suffering, we are.
It recently came to my attention that the State of Idaho exempts lawmakers from the requirement of obtaining a concealed weapons permit in order to conceal carry. This is far from the only example of the "Ruling Class" exempting themselves from the laws they have created. Congress passed the Affordable Care Act (without even bothering to read its contents), yet when faced with abiding by this legislation, they issued a rule (August 7, 2013 OPM) that essentially exempted them from this poisonous legislation. They gave an exemption to themselves - not to you and I, mind you - but to themselves! But it doesn't end with our lawmakers - they are but one section of our Ruling Class.
Law enforcement, in recent years, has proven themselves above the law. As I wrote about in an earlier post, a Washington State Patrol officer and pilot were caught ticketing "civilians" while allowing their fellow officers to speed on their way to a law enforcement seminar. There is example after example of heightened police presence and involvement when a crime is committed against an officer rather than an ordinary citizen.
And then there are our judges. These are the men that we have charged with disseminating supreme justice. This sacred trust has been sorely misplaced. Rather than unbiasedly dispensing justice, they have chosen to use their honored position to betray the American people. They have written their own, biased opinion into law and in the process they have circumvented justice and stolen their fellow mans freedom.
How soon we forget. Just over two centuries ago brave men sought a new country, a country they could call their own. A country where no man was another's better and no one controlled another mans freedoms or opportunities. The country they found - that they built - was a beacon of hope in a harsh world. That country was the United States of America. But, we have failed to guard one of our most precious commodities - equality. We allowed ignorant, greedy men to steel our autonomy while we slept and now we have reduced ourselves to nation of obedient servants. We have effectively given the substance of our lives to the Ruling Class. We have accepted servitude in place of freedom and taken on the mantle of peasants minding the King's holdings. We have become the Villains.
Will you continue in your slumber? Will you pass on a heritage of servitude to you children? Will you allow your fellow man to exercise their (illegal) authority to rule over you? Will you spend your days serving an ungoverned, immoral Ruling Class? Or will you reclaim your rightful position and exercise the rights endowed to you by your Creator?
We are the Ruling Class. It's time for us to remind our self-appointed "Masters" of that fact.

At that point, if you're going to take up the cartridge box you have to ask yourself who you're fighting for--what you're fighting for. I know someone who was emphatically headed in that direction, and at some point he told me that the Lord showed him where the Bible says that we are strangers and pilgrims in this world--citizens of the kingdom of heaven. Are we going to be disciples of Christ, or Patriots of America? There's a trap there. Christ also died for those we would take up arms against if we were to prosecute a conflict against the downfall of freedom. What they're doing to this country is not upright, and as such we should be calling it out, but I assure you that the cartridge box is not at the disposal of the body of Christ, to kill those for whom Christ died and whom we are told to pray for. ReplyDeleteThe problem is that we have lost the use of the ballot as a method of change; we have seen the last of the free elections. With the majority in the house the repubs could have undone much of the damage of the O-care and the open borders but instead chose to continue those programs against the wishes of those who sent them to DC.

There is another way to resist... consider simply doing nothing. I mean don't go to work, don't pay taxes, purchase as little as possible - do as little as possible and still stay alive. In short, I think with the proper application of methods Gandhi used to end British rule in India, we will deprive our...masters... of their power over us. Of course, if only 1 or 100 or 1000 people choose pacifistic nonparticipation nothing will get accomplished. But consider if one fine Monday, ten million people simply stayed home for a week, or twenty million... what are our 'leaders' going to do... break down everyone's door and shoot you for staying in bed?
ReplyDeleteNow, maybe its a dream that we can re-create just rule in our country because when are 20 million Americans ever going to act in a concerted way such as this? Well, it had to get pretty bad in India before Gandhi ever got a chance to do his thing. Consider what it will be like in this country when everyone's life savings just disappears during the next banking crisis, or they revalue your bank account at the rate of one 'new dollar' for every one hundred old dollars you have. This will be a powerful catalyst to fight 'the man'.
Only thing is, I think the government is more than prepared to kill every one of us if we 'fight' back.
But they wont know what to do with 50 million former American wage slaves who just keep calling in sick...

ReplyDeleteThe best place to remind them is at the ballot box. Some would tell you that you should vote for the least of the evil choices. I disagree. That is why we are where we are today. If your elected politician is not doing the right thing then vote for the other guy and make it clear why you want to vote him out. Don't simply not vote, you double the effect by voting for the other guy. I will not vote for anyone who is pro-illegal immigrant or anti gun. If both (or all) candidates are then vote out the incumbent. The reason is two fold. First of all you must make them pay for their failure to represent you and you can only do that by returning them to the private sector. Secondly a pro-illegal or anti-gun legislator with no seniority is less dangerous then they one with seniority. Next election hopefully your party will get the message and give you someone who will represent your interests to vote for and you can vote out the interim place keeper.

Romans 13 has been so misused to make "law" an unlawful government!! One of the best explanations of this misuse is by pastor Chuck Baldwin. Go to his web site and read what Romans 13 really is saying.1. Only The Lord has unlimited authority. Romans 13 addresses civil (human authority). ALL human authority is limited. A husband has authority in his home, but he is not allowed to kill or hurt his wife and children. A pastor has authority in his church, but is not allowed to tell the businessmen in his church how to run their businesses. 2. The rulers are not to be a terror to good conduct. Can anyone here really say that todays government has not be a terror to much of what most believe to be good conduct? The highest law of the United States is supposed to be the constitution. Yet we see a ruling class break the legal law of the land all the time, and not ever try to hide it!! So, how can those who are lawless be justified by Romans 13. They can NOT. If we must obey ANY government, at all times, then the Germans under Hitler bare no blame at all for obeying the ELECTED government of the National Socialist Party- the Nazi party.
ReplyDeleteWell, Romans 13 is pretty clear. It does not pertain to the government, but to the Christians that are governed. GOD sometimes puts ungodly governments in power for his purpose. Christians are to obey them UNLESS the govenment tells them to do something that is against the law of GOD.
DeleteWhat is clear is that much of what our government does/endorses today IS against the law of GOD. Abortion, gay marriage, killing people without due process, and many others. It's at all levels, not just the federal. God may allow ungodly governments to arise because of our hard hearts, but the is not the same is GOD putting them in power.

DeleteLook folks, I hate to break it to you. While things are pretty bad not only here but everywhere....it's part of a cycle. The same cycle that spins and has spun since there were more than three people on the planet.

I could name hundreds of scandals just in our country's history alone not to mention European and Asian, numerous abuses of power (political and law enforcement) and financial disasters. Empires grow and decline, Humanity displays heroic acts of kindness and generosity and unbelievable horror and depravity.
What we are experiencing is not new. Doesn't mean we shouldn't be outraged and shouldn't take action. It's just not new. Read your history. Especially letters and diaries of everyday people and famous people.
People always suffer from Golden Age Syndrome. Or Grass is Greener syndrome.
What you can do is the same things you've always been able to do, live the best life you can and set an example. Remember, when you point a finger at others, there are four fingers pointing back at you.

The Federal Government is purchasing 2 billion rounds of ammo, most of it hollow point which the Geneva Convention prohibits for wars on foreign soil. They have built the Police State by equipping local police with military vehicles and arms. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect those dots. The Citizens have a moral and constitutional responsibility to 'point fingers' at evil.
Many Patriots are preparing to provide for and protect their loved ones in the face of, in your words, 'unbelievable horror and depravity'. Of course that includes firearms. You mention 'taking action'. I'd love to hear what specific action you are taking.

God does not hold people responsible for obeying civil government when obedience would mean disobeying a command of God.

(Acts 4:18) But Peter and John answered, "We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard" (Acts 4:20) Later Peter made the statement that, " We must obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29)
This clearly shows that God requires his people to disobey the civil government when it would mean disobeying God.
Also. in Daniel 3:13-27 Three Jewish men were commanded to bow down and worship an image, they refused. God showed his approval by rescuing them from the furnace.
Also, Exodus 1:17, 21 Pharaoh commanded the Egyptian midwives to put to death the Hebrew baby boys. They disobeyed and God approved.

The ballot box is all but lost but it is not yet lost. We need to get involved in our local government's and attempt to move up from there. Join the school board, county council or be your local Sheriff. Good people can run this country we just need to do it.
