Without Rule of Law

One of the greatest gifts the United States inherited from Mother England was the Rule of Law.  However, the founders were not content to merely recreate English rule in America.   Our forefathers imported English Common Law and then expanded upon it, choosing members from their own communities to serve as lawmakers and then return home to live under the laws they had created.  They had forged a society that truly was "For the People and By the People".

This great pillar of our society, this strength of our nation, is also inherently fragile.  Our societal strength is only maintained through equal administration of law.  Disparity of the implementation of the Rule of Law between public servants and citizens, between lawmaker and taxpayer, between law enforcement and civilian, causes the foundation of society to crack.  As society fails the chasm of unequal application of law grows until finally, the Rule of Law fails and anarchy reigns.

And here was are.  We now live in a country Without Rule of Law.  Law has become something governing the citizen, not the "public servant".  Our lawmakers regularly excuse themselves from the law governing every man.  Government officials commit felonious and treasonous crimes and continue on, unscathed.  Law enforcement officers violate constitutional rights with no consequence.  Building inspectors, tax assessors and other low level bureaucrats bully the public at every level denying even a basic redress of grievances.  And our "leaders" protect each other, while we, the taxpayers, are left footing the bill while enduring a society Without Rule of Law.

In truth, we are completely upside down.  We should expect more from our public servants, not less.  We should expect the people who create the laws to live by the laws.  We should expect those who are hired to enforce the law, to first and foremost, keep the law.

With a Supreme Court justices that admit  they will ignore the Constitution and vote with their "conscience", a President that enacts illegal Executive Orders, a former Secretary of State that lies under oath and bureaucrats that engage in petty tyranny on a daily basis we are already living Without Rule of Law.  And without rule of law, we have anarchy.

A United State of America Without  Rule of Law - are your ready?

  1. Something I've kind of wondered-are governments of all types any more corrupt than they ever has been? Or are we just hearing more about it? In 1916, it would have been far easier to hide questionable activities than it is now. If, as a fer-instance, a cop pounded someone into the blacktop a century ago, it would have been easy to cover it up, but not now, where everyone's phone is essentially a miniature TV transmitter (among other things). The absolute*worst*bureaucrats to deal with are the low-level, local flunkies. They have 50 cents worth of power and have no intention of letting you forget it. The best way to deal with them is to avoid it whenever possible (sometimes easy to do, other times, you're just stuck). The easiest ones? Those who are totally disinterested..seems odd, but it also seems to be true more often than not.
Maybe that's just the way it is,has been, and always will be..

  3. Thomas Jefferson was one of the greatest Americans to have ever lived. He stated, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Our Founders' Republic is long gone. The tree of liberty is headed for the saw mill.

Patriots' #1 Goal should be to re-establish a new constitutional republic. Borders of the former US don't mean jack. Get over it. Most Americans are already behind enemy lines. That’s why God made yellow moving trucks.

The Republic fell without one shot fired so don’t expect unorganized patriots to wage any offense. At this stage the best (if you can call it that) case scenario is: chaos-to-anarchy-to-possibly a new republic. The world has seen many revolutions. Do you know how many constitutional republics were successfully created? Pray for good moral leaders. That leads me to my last question…

Are you saved? If not, please put that at the TOP of your To-Do List.

    2. Anonymous, let's cut to the chase. Are you disputing my statement, "Thomas Jefferson was one of the greatest Americans to have ever lived"? For the benefit of those indoctrinated by government schools in the past four decades (that's 40 years), Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of America's Declaration of Independence, our 2nd Vice President, and 3rd President.

Can anyone name two politicians in DC who campaigned on being a proud atheist? How are all these 'Godly men' in DC working out for America?

Give me a magistrate who will govern Constitutionally, yes even an ATHEIST, over any Christian who will not govern Constitutionally.

    4. Today, we in the United States, following the lead of our Founding Fathers‑some of whom were Christians who naively embraced the Trojan Horse doctrine of "natural law" thinking that this would retain a Christian character for the nation (how wrong they were!), and therefore have wider appeal—have almost succeeded in totally eliminating religion from public discourse. Behold the wondrous and nefarious influence of our "We the People" Constitution, which, along with its many excellencies as a "procedural document" (as R. J. Rushdoony correctly observed), nevertheless gives no acknowledgment of Jesus Christ or His law, and disallows any moral standards for holding public office (see Article VI, par. 3b ". . . but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States"). Today, our, "We the People" Constitution has been interpreted by the secularists in our midst, with the acquiescence of the slumbering church, as meaning, "no moral test" shall ever be required. Furthermore, even a cursory examination of Madison and Hamilton's renowned and revered "Federalist Papers," will reveal that they refused to reference the Bible or the laws of God in Scripture, but yet have numerous references to the pagan Greeks and Romans.

It should be obvious to all where Madison and Hamilton were looking for their authority! This is consistent with the overall tone of their appeal to "natural law" which everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike, was supposed to obey. "Natural law" was sufficient authority—sufficient legitimacy—for them to organize a civil government, and, as it turned out, was sufficient for the church as well which naively lent its approval. "Natural law" would get everyone's approval, while the law of God in Scripture would not. Especially the approval of leading intellectuals like Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin, who, it was thought, would never approve of a constitution which acknowledged the Christ, the King of kings, and His law as the foundation for the nations. The coin of complicity in the church's sellout to secularism served as further justification for their failure to insist that Christ should be honored as King of this new nation. But the churches had a convenient fig leaf: just point to Jefferson's rewrite of the Gospels, in which he, in his superior wisdom, left out all of Jesus' miracles, and presented a gutted "gospel," the good works of all of us ("natural law"?) being sufficient for any man's "salvation." The churches were cowed before Jefferson's towering intellect. Surely it would be better to accept half a loaf, and go for "We the People" as the ultimate source of law. Little did they know what lay ahead, as the nation would steadily secularize, with Christian society being in, first gradual, then headlong retreat during the next 200 years!

    5. Part 2: So what do we see today? The church is in panic retreat before the monstrous colossus of a secularizing society. We see the effects of a profound evangelical malaise, with more professing "born again Christians" than ever, existing side by side with a frightening and unprecedented rise of societally destructive perversions of all kinds—all the old disgustingly familiar brands, with new ones seemingly being invented daily. We have just heard two well-known Christian conservative leaders publicly announce that they were giving up on politics; that the "political solution" is the wrong way to go; that we should just go back to saving souls.

We see, that in spite of years of a flurry of "Christian conservative" political activity, plus rising anti-abortion protests, that the evangelical church seems nearly impotent, with less power than ever to shape society along the lines of the laws of God. She seems to be reduced to merely threshing about, hopelessly bemoaning the rise of abortion, the sludge of pornography, the rise of the "gay" movement, etc..

No group of Christians, be they a church or individuals, can ride a theological fence forever, especially when that fence is the dividing line between secular civil government and Christian civil government. It all comes down to this confidence: that the civil governments of this earth will one day enter into their own national covenants with "King Jesus." (I believe that the Solemn League and Covenant of Scotland is an excellent example for the nations to follow in drawing up their own national covenants)

The only alternative to Christian civil government is to allow humanistic and "revolutionary" governments to continue proliferating across the globe, marching down the road to their own obliteration at the hands of King Jesus, the White Horse Rider of Revelation 19, who holds the rebellious nations in derision before His wrath falls upon them to their own destruction.

Today's appalling flood of man's-rights-centered laws are mostly composed of the deadly fruits of Enlightenment French Revolution thinking. They are choking apostate Western "Christian" civilization to death. We live in revolutionary times. Nationalistic revolutions are filling the vacuum left after the "Revolution Settlement" of 1688, which stopped "The Killing Times," the name given to the slaughter of 18,000 Covenanter men, women, and children from 1660 under Charles II to 1685 under his brother James II. The killing was stopped, but the national covenants with King Jesus were rejected, and Christian civil government became merely a memory. We have gone steadily downhill from there, with our own United States "We the People" Constitution being one of the outstanding milestones on the road to secularism.

Fundamentally, we need a Godly Revolution, back to basic biblical morality. This "revolution" must begin in the churches with repentance: a) for their acquiescence in this spurning of the Crown Rights of King Jesus, and, b) for following after the suicidal Christianity-cleansed policy of Thomas Jefferson's secular "separation of church and state."

    6. Yeah, I wouldn't hang my hat on Jefferson. Patrick Henry was THE MAN tho!! He smelt a "rat in Philadelphia" and boy was he right! The "constitutional convention" was a sham! Led right to the disaster of the civil war in which Lincoln took the rights of the people and replaced them with federal tyranny. Now look how it all worked out..

  4. At what point will a majority of Americans finally say "Enough!" and be willing to do something about it? Most are too old, and the younger ones too self-indulgent and self-centered. I think the forces of evil have been waiting for just this type situation and have been planning it for a long, long time. Fortunately, evil never wins. God intervenes, punishes the wicked and delivers a 1000 year era of peace which is ruled by Jesus. Take heart! We are very near to the time it will happen. Just make sure you are saved and know Jesus.

  7. The law has been corrupted and usurped and we are now merely a nation of men. Too many are ready to bow at the foot of an egomaniacal sociopath to "save us" from the egomaniacal sociopath on the other side, and they claim all manner of divine support and censure as their back-up. To chose either is to turn our back on God and to say, 'Sorry, but I have to compromise in order to avoid disaster.' Such a response is rebellion, making ourselves the ruler instead of Him. We never have to compromise, we never have to bow to man. If you are resisting the siren song to seek salvation in this election, I urge you to stand strong. He who delivered the Hebrew children from the fiery furnace and who gave the miracle of light at Hanukkah can always do what is impossible with man. Do we trust Him as our true Sovereign or not? We are not called to success but to faithfulness. Will the Son of Man find faithfulness on the earth when he returns? Let's live out the reply of "Yes!"
